The NYRR Staten Island Half is a Running race in Staten Island, New York consisting of a Half Marathon.
The first NYRR Staten Island Half took place almost 40 years ago in 1987 to showcase the borough that hosts the start of the TCS New York City Marathon. This year's race takes place just four weeks before Marathon Sunday, so it's a perfect dress rehearsal for November 5 that features fabulous views of the New York Harbor and the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge.
The NYRR Staten Island Half will start in two waves. You will receive your wave and corral assignment in your confirmation email the week before the race.

Course is fairly straight forward, out and back. One hill after the turn and a few rollers. The second half was very windy and cold. I made sure I tucked in behind someone to break the wind. Not my favorite half but a good tune up for the NYC marathon. Will More...
