Bay Street and Slosson Terrace, Staten Island, NY
The NYRR Staten Island Half is a Running race in Staten Island, New York consisting of a Half Marathon.
The first NYRR Staten Island Half took place almost 40 years ago in 1987 to showcase the borough that hosts the start of the TCS New York City Marathon. This year's race takes place just four weeks before Marathon Sunday, so it's a perfect dress rehearsal for November 5 that features fabulous views of the New York Harbor and the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge.
The NYRR Staten Island Half will start in two waves. You will receive your wave and corral assignment in your confirmation email the week before the race.
It is the final event in the NYRR Five Borough Series, as well as the sixth and final event in
Very well organized. NYRR is the best
I have to admit the view of the Verrazano bridge was pretty cool. The heavy rain which caused me to have wet socks while running dampered my overall experience. I'm glad I had the chance to run the race but it'll be my last time.
It was a great day with friends but the views were none existent. The run. Through the base was all there was. The course was surprisingly quiet and lacked people cheering the runners on. The rain probably kept everyone away! Optimistic to try it again
